PhD Thesis (A comparison of seeking-finding behaviours across the contexts of environmental space, paper documents, and on-screen) – University of Reading
I wrote, designed, and typeset my PhD thesis, including making the large quantity of statistical graphics and diagrammatic material. I wanted it to be a credible piece of book design as well as fulfilling the University requirements for formatting theses. I took the non-standard decision to keep quoted material embedded in the text, in blue within the black text, to make it distinguishable but with minimal disruption to the narrative flow. The names formulated for the group of behaviours discussed in my thesis are identified by orange dotted underscores, again to make them distinguishable without interrupting narrative flow.
