Ffangs the Vampire Bat and the Kiss of Truth – Faber and Faber

This had originally been published as a large, square-format book, and the illustrations had been commissioned for that size and shape. I somehow had to make it all work in a format that was smaller and rectangular.
It was great fun fitting the illustrations and text together in a meaningful way. The fact that Ted Hughes’s verse and Chris Riddell’s illustrations are both excellent and a joy to work with certainly helped.
